Hosting the prestigious King’s Baton Relay — A proud and memorable milestone
Another remarkable achievement in Delhi Public School-Bopal, Ahmedabad’s Pearl Jubilee Celebration year, as we had the honour of hosting the prestigious King’s Baton Relay—a proud and memorable milestone for the entire DPS-Bopal family. The event was smoothly coordinated by the team at GoBananas Events. The King’s Baton Relay, a ceremonial journey conducted ahead of the Commonwealth Games, carries a special message from His Majesty the King and represents unity, friendship, and the spirit of sportsmanship across participating nations. This year, the relay marks the countdown to the Commonwealth Games 2026, scheduled to be held in Glasgow.
The King’s Baton was unveiled on campus in an atmosphere filled with excitement and unity, with students welcoming it enthusiastically and showcasing their strong school spirit.
Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney addressed the gathering, inspiring students to actively participate in sports and physical activities. She emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork and determination, values symbolised by the King’s Baton Relay, and encouraged students to embrace true sportsmanship.
To mark the occasion, the school organized a vibrant Poster Making Competition based on themes related to the King’s Baton Relay and its core values. Students from various classes expressed their creativity and awareness through colourful, meaningful artworks, and outstanding participants were felicitated with gifts.
As the King’s Baton moved through the campus, the entire school resonated with cheers, applause, and celebration. Teachers and students came together to witness this iconic moment, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
The event further highlighted DPS-Bopal’s commitment to sports and holistic development while celebrating the message of unity, inspiration and global harmony carried by the King’s Baton Relay.





Kalanjali (Parents’ Day) Celebration 6th March, Jr. KG to Grade-2 2025-26
On 6th March 2025-26, the Foundational Stage students of DPS Bopal, Junior KG to Grade-2, lit up the stage with their spectacular Parents’ Day celebration-Kalanjali.
The event began with a graceful ceremonial inauguration, symbolising unity in diversity. Our esteemed Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney, inspired the gathering with her heartfelt words, encouraging parents to actively partner in their children’s learning journey.
The programme Jhankar – The Rhythm of Joy, presented by the children of Jr. KG, Sr. KG, and Balvatika, began with a divine Shiv Vandana, an energetic Fitness Funda, nostalgic Ties that Bind, patriotic performances, a tribute to the Indian women’s cricket team and a vibrant Bollywood Tadka—making the event a perfect blend of culture, creativity and celebration. For our Junior KG stars, it was a proud maiden performance, making the day even more special.
The annual cultural program Anugoonj — meaning an echo — for Grade 1 was celebrated with the theme “Reviving Roots.” This echo is not merely a sound, but a gentle reminder calling us back to wisdom. Through Anugoonj, children performed on tales that are rarely retold in modern times like the stories of Eklavya’s dedication, Narsimha’s courage, Shravan Kumar’s devotion, and Meera Bai’s unwavering faith and many more.
The program for Grade 2 was celebrated with the theme “The Gita Way – A Journey Within.” Through their performances students brought alive powerful lessons from the Gita with confidence and creativity. Characters like Ravan highlighted how ego and jealousy lead to downfall, while Duryodhana symbolized the destructive force of uncontrolled desires. The performances emphasized profound truths: the mind can be both friend and enemy, self‑control is the key to strength and every thought, word and action shapes our destiny.
With 100% participation and the belief of “No Child Left Behind,” every child shone with confidence and enthusiasm. Kalanjali truly celebrated togetherness, talent and the joyful rhythm of learning.





















Kalorex Literary Festival
Delhi Public School – Bopal enthusiastically celebrated the Kalorex Literary Festival (KLF) in association with the Kalinga Literary Festival, transforming the campus into a vibrant space filled with imagination, creativity, and a deep appreciation for literature. A series of thoughtfully designed activities across various grades encouraged students to explore language, storytelling, and creative expression in engaging and meaningful ways.
Spell Magic Activity – Grades I and II
The Spell Magic activity for Grades I and II was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from all students. The young learners displayed impressive spelling abilities, confidence, and accuracy throughout the activity. Many students performed exceptionally well and were awarded special badges for completing their tasks perfectly, which further motivated and delighted them.
The activity significantly benefited students by strengthening their vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and writing fluency. It also helped improve their memorisation and recall abilities, areas where noticeable progress was observed. Through engaging rounds and regular practice, the children developed greater focus and a growing love for language learning. Overall, Spell Magic proved to be an enriching experience that nurtured confidence, discipline, and enthusiasm for words.
Literary Activities – Grades VI to IX
The festival officially commenced on 24 November 2025, setting a lively rhythm for the week-long celebration of books and ideas. Students across grades participated in activities conducted during their English periods.
Students of Grades VI and VII began the festivities with a Bookmark-Making Activity. They designed beautiful bookmarks decorated with inspirational quotes, beloved literary characters, and imaginative artwork, reflecting their creativity and appreciation for reading.
Meanwhile, students of Grades VIII and IX participated in a Book Jacket-Making Activity, where they creatively redesigned book covers. Through this activity, students demonstrated their artistic skills while showcasing their understanding of literary themes and storytelling elements.
KLF Session 3 – Essence of Literary Festivals in India
A captivating interactive session was conducted by Mr. Ashok Kumar Bal, CEO of the Kalinga Literary Festival. In his address, he introduced students to the significance of literary festivals in India and how such platforms bring together writers, readers, and thinkers.
The session highlighted how literary festivals encourage creative expression, cultural exchange, and intellectual engagement. Students gained insights into how literature shapes perspectives and inspires young minds to appreciate the richness of storytelling and ideas.
Nukkad Naatak – Powerful Social Messages
As part of the festival celebrations, students presented impactful Nukkad Nataks (street plays) titled “Reach Out, Speak Out” and “Roop ke Paar, Soch ke Andar.” These performances conveyed powerful social messages, encouraging students to speak openly about their struggles while promoting positive body image, self-expression, and self-acceptance. The plays effectively combined creativity with social awareness, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Literary Activities – Grade V
Grade V students actively participated in multiple engaging activities during the festival.
Vocabulary Trading Cards
Students designed Vocabulary Trading Cards, each selecting a challenging word and creating a card that included its meaning, part of speech, example sentence, and illustration. The cards were then exchanged among peers, allowing students to learn new words collaboratively. The activity strengthened vocabulary while enhancing communication, creativity, and peer learning.
Poetry to Prose
In the Poetry to Prose activity, students explored how poetic ideas could be transformed into meaningful prose. They carefully analysed the poem’s central theme and emotions before converting the verses into coherent paragraphs. This exercise improved reading comprehension, vocabulary, interpretation of figurative language, and creative writing skills, while deepening students’ appreciation of literature.
Literary Activity – Grade IV
Grade IV students participated in the imaginative “Fracture the Fairy Tale” activity. Students reimagined well-known stories such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood, adding unexpected twists, creative characters, and surprising endings. Many students also illustrated their stories, making the experience visually engaging. The activity fostered original thinking, storytelling skills, and creative expression, while encouraging students to rethink familiar narratives.
Literary Activity – Grade III
The festival began for Grade III students with the “Picture Perfect”. Students carefully listened to oral instructions from the teacher, visualized the described scenes, and then illustrated them on paper. This exercise strengthened their listening skills, imagination, spatial vocabulary, and understanding of action words. The classrooms buzzed with creativity as students enthusiastically expressed their ideas through drawings and colors.
The Kalorex Literary Festival at Delhi Public School – Bopal successfully fostered a spirit of creativity, curiosity, and literary appreciation among students across all grades. Through interactive activities, creative expression, and inspiring discussions, the festival encouraged students to explore the beauty of language, storytelling, and imagination.






















International Educational Global Citizenship Program to Japan
Kyoto & Osaka
The final lap of the trip began from Kyoto with a visit to the Gion district, a captivating blend of traditional culture and modern charm. Strolling through the district gave students a view of its meticulously preserved wooden buildings, charming tea houses, and rich display of traditional Japanese art.
The visit to the famous Kinkaku-ji, a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, left everyone spellbound. The three-tiered pavilion, covered in gold leaf and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exuded a serene atmosphere and provided truly mesmerising scenery. The visit to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove was another highlight. With its dense stretches of Moso bamboo and pathways weaving between sky-high stalks, the grove enveloped students in an enchanting visual experience.
The last day in Osaka was spent visiting the iconic Osaka Castle, the lively Dotonbori neighbourhood, and the immersive Teamlabs Osaka Botanical Garden. Osaka Castle, among Japan’s most important historical landmarks, offered expansive panoramic view of the entire city from its summit. The museum presented the Samurai Era’s history through its artifacts and warfare exhibits. Later in the afternoon, students explored the energetic Dotonbori district, known for its neon lights, retro-futuristic charm, shopping, and food stalls.
The day concluded with a visit to the Teamlabs Osaka Botanical Garden, where students discovered an enchanting world created through a magical blend of nature and art. The illuminated installations transformed the garden into an interactive wonderland, leaving everyone mesmerised. Overall, the trip to Japan allowed students to create unforgettable memories, gain new learnings, enjoy magical experiences, and explore exciting new avenues.






Beyond Borders: A Glimpse into UAE Higher Education
On November 6, 2025, Delhi Public School–Bopal, under the aegis of the Placement Cell, organized an enriching interaction session with a delegation of universities from the UAE. The event was conducted in collaboration with Career Pathways and the Life Education and Environmental Sciences, exclusively for Grade XI and XII students registered under ISC.
The participating institutions included the Rochester Institute of Technology (Dubai), American University of Sharjah, and City University Ajman. Representatives from these universities delivered engaging presentations highlighting their academic programs, global exposure opportunities, campus life, and the diverse co-curricular and club activities available to students. They also emphasized the importance of skill development through sports, tournaments, and community engagement alongside academic pursuits.
The session provided students with valuable insights into studying abroad and the distinctive advantages of pursuing higher education in the UAE. University counselors spent over an hour interacting with students, addressing their queries, and guiding them through the application process and scholarship options.
Overall, it was a highly informative and interactive experience that broadened students’ perspectives on international education and helped them explore future academic pathways with clarity and confidence.

Vatsalyam 2025: Strengthening Parent-School Synergy for a Changing World
Delhi Public School–Bopal hosted its Annual Parenting Conference – “Vatsalyam”, centered around Total Parenting Solutions on Friday, 8 August 2025, at Abhivyakti. The event was graced by the MD & CEO of Kalorex Group, Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, accompanied by the CEO-Operations, Kalorex Group, Mr. B. Anantha Krishnan, the Director, Ms. Vandna Joshi, and the Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney, along with other notable dignitaries. A large and enthusiastic turnout of parents from grades VI and VII added vibrancy to the event, reflecting the school’s enduring partnership with its parent community built over the past 30 years.
The Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney warmly welcomed the gathering and highlighted Dr. Shroff’s remarkable leadership, deep commitment to child safety, parenting, and education. The successful completion of 122 Total Parenting Solutions sessions was acknowledged, along with the vital role of parent-school collaboration in today’s fast-evolving and unpredictable VUCA world. A special highlight of the event was the Fireside Chat between Dr. Shroff and Mr. B. Anantha Krishnan, which provided meaningful insights into the vision and practical aspects of Total Parenting Solutions. Dr. Shroff further discussed the impact of digital addiction on mental health and productivity, with effective strategies shared for restoring digital balance, encouraging mindful usage and overall well-being. The importance of consistent communication between parents and children, along with a shared sense of responsibility within the home, was highlighted.
The Parent Community Network (PCN) was formally launched by Ms. Jayashree Kad, Director – Future Learning Design and Training (FLDT), representing a significant step towards building a collaborative and informed parent community. Following the launch, Ms. Kad offered valuable insights into the PCN, presenting it as an innovative platform that addresses key parenting topics and embodies the idea of parenting with purpose. She emphasized the vital role of active parental involvement in nurturing resilient and adaptable children in today’s VUCA world.
Adding a special charm was the exclusive Book Signing Session with Dr. Shroff. Parents had the unique opportunity of receiving personally signed copies of her books, making the experience more personal and memorable. Equally impactful was the presentation of saplings to all the attendee parents as part of the Green Initiative, accompanied by a parallel focus on wellness through the Healthy Living Initiative — reinforcing the school’s commitment to overall well-being.
The conference concluded on an inspiring note, providing parents with practical strategies for holistic parenting, promoting digital well-being, and providing a valuable opportunity to engage with Dr. Shroff for deeper insights into raising future-ready children.


























SRIJAN 2025: A Pearl Jubilee Celebration of Innovation, Creativity, and Excellence
The campus of Delhi Public School – Bopal was abuzz with energy and excitement as it hosted SRIJAN 2025, the school’s premier interschool event. This year held special significance, as it marked the Pearl Jubilee year of the institution—celebrating a legacy of academic excellence, innovation, and value-driven education.
Aligned with the theme “Go Green,” Srijan 2025 reflected the school’s strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. As part of the Green School initiative, the event embraced a hybrid format. This thoughtful approach not only ensured wider accessibility and inclusivity but also reinforced DPS Bopal’s vision of creating eco-conscious, future-ready learners through responsible and sustainable practices.
More than 800 students from 36 reputed schools across Ahmedabad participated in a series of thought-provoking and engaging competitions. The day unfolded with a vibrant inaugural ceremony, beginning with cultural harmony that celebrated unity in diversity, followed by an inspiring address by the Director, Ms. Vandna Joshi, which set a purposeful tone for the event. The Director mentioned that Srijan is more than an event; it is a celebration of imagination and expression. It offers students a platform to express freely, think deeply, and innovate with confidence. A captivating welcome dance followed, infusing the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm. The Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney then addressed the gathering. She thanked the Principals of the participating schools for their support and involvement. Encouraging the students, she urged them to keep exploring, learning, and moving forward, reminding everyone that in the spirit of Srijan, we are all winners. The principal underscored the importance of nurturing curiosity, creativity, and environmental consciousness among learners.
The event showcased a vibrant array of competitions spanning multiple disciplines. Nrityanjali showcased powerful dance performances, while Sheri Natak brought street theatre alive with compelling social themes. Kavyanjali provided a platform for young poets to express themselves, and Voices for Change challenged students to perform skits aimed at inspiring social reform. Kishore Vaigyanik sparked scientific curiosity with engaging and challenging rounds of questions, complemented by Vigyanam, where students presented innovative scientific ideas with clarity and confidence. Language lovers were drawn into Think & Link, a competition designed to explore vocabulary, literary references, and linguistic connections. Technovanza ignited creativity through the design of applications and games addressing real-world challenges, while Beat the Grand Master engaged minds in strategic chess matches. Indian culture found expression through Kalayatan, an event celebrating traditional art forms, and the standout segment, RoboWizards, had students apply real-time coding skills to simulate smart city solutions.
Each competition was judged on rigorous criteria, ensuring transparency and high standards of excellence. Srijan 2025 stood not just as a contest of talent but as a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and environmental responsibility. The prestigious Rolling Trophy, Srijanshree was awarded to Zydus School for Excellence, Godhavi for securing the highest cumulative score.

Pratibha Gaurav Divas : Jr. Kg. – Grade 4 (2024–25)
On August 30, 2025, Delhi Public School Bopal, Ahmedabad, celebrated its annual Pratibha Gaurav Divas to honor the outstanding achievements of students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 4 for the academic year 2024–25. The event reaffirmed the school’s commitment to recognizing the dedication, perseverance, and talent of its young learners.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Siddhartha Majumdar, Inspecting Officer (Central Government) and Competent Authority at SAFEMA/NDPSA, and Dr. Vineet Kumar Dad, Scientist/Engineer–SF at SAC, ISRO, along with Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney and other dignitaries. Parents of the awardees further added prestige to the occasion. The celebration began with a Cultural Harmony Ceremony, where guests offered sacred flowers to invoke divine blessings. Nearly 184 students were felicitated with awards under the categories Pradyut, Prabudh, Kushagra, and Satatam, recognizing excellence across academics and co-curricular pursuits.
In her address, Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney highlighted the significance of DPS Bopal’s 30th year of excellence and stressed the importance of parent–teacher collaboration in nurturing children. She also urged parents to replace digital de-addiction with meaningful time spent with their wards. Special Guest Mr. Majumdar lauded the event and encouraged students to uphold discipline, hard work, and dedication as cornerstones of success. Dr. Dad congratulated the achievers and emphasized sincerity, curiosity, and human values as essential traits for true accomplishment.
Adding vibrancy to the ceremony were cultural performances by the students, including a soulful rendition of “Humko Mann Ki Shakti Dena” and a spirited dance presentation “Sitare Zameen Ke,” which beautifully captured the essence of the day. Through Pratibha Gaurav Divas, DPS Bopal once again upheld its tradition of fostering excellence and holistic growth, ensuring that every child’s unique talents shine.














INVESTITURE CEREMONY: SENIOR SCHOOL 2025-26
Delhi Public -School – Bopal celebrated the Senior School Investiture Ceremony with dignified grandeur on 31 July 2025. This ceremonial tradition stands as a testament to the school’s enduring belief in nurturing its conscientious leaders. Each office bearer received this honour not merely as a title, but as a responsibility to serve with distinction.
The solemn occasion was graced by the Special Guest, Mr. Rahul Sharma, the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of the North West Zone (Engineering and Vigilance), the Director, Ms. Vandna Joshi and the Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney. The parents looked on with pride as recognition was conferred upon the newly appointed student leadership. As a token of welcome, a sapling was presented to the Special Guest, symbolizing growth and new beginnings.
A spirit of unity filled the air as the grand event commenced with a motivational song by the choir. The vibrant rendition stirred the audience with a sense of purpose. The Student Council stood proudly with their respective flags, embodying honour and pride.
The Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney, congratulated the newly appointed Student Council and reminded them that leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege. She urged them to act as a vital bridge between students and teachers, using their role to create a positive impact. Marking the school’s 30th Pearl Anniversary, she also introduced two key initiatives—30 Acts of Kindness and Digital De-addiction. Recognizing the students’ selection through various levels, she conveyed her best wishes for their future endeavours. Following this, 57 members of the Student Council took the oath to uphold truth, integrity, and service.
The badges were ceremoniously presented to the Student Council by the Special Guest, accompanied by the Director and the Principal, adding a touch of distinction to the occasion. The ceremony continued with the introduction of 15 Club Directors and the unveiling of the Prefects and the House Captains of the six houses named after prominent rivers, who stepped forward with pride to receive their badges.
The Special Guest, Mr. Rahul Sharma, shared valuable insights on the importance of discipline and honesty as guiding principles for success. He encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, reminding them, “The world beyond school is highly competitive—stay alert, stay observant.”
A graceful dance performance added charm to the Investiture Ceremony, beautifully complementing its solemn spirit. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Head Boy, Agrim Sharma, and the Head Girl, Anushka Kothari, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, staff, and students for their support and presence.
The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, leaving the office bearers ardent about their crucial roles in the school and parents filled with utmost pride as they witnessed their children embark on a new journey of leadership.

Soft Board Decoration: Creativity Meets Collaboration
The Soft Board Decoration competition, held on 1 May 2025 for classes IX–XII, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, teamwork, and coordination. Students of each class collaborated enthusiastically, transforming their ideas into visually captivating displays that reflected both imagination and collective effort. The event provided a valuable platform for students to merge artistic expression with organizational skills, as every element on the boards showcased their dedication and synergy. Through this collaborative process, students learned the importance of team spirit and the power of a shared vision, demonstrating how individual talents can unite to create something truly remarkable. Classes IX K, X K, XI E, and XII F stood out for their exceptional work, earning recognition for their clean layouts, innovative presentations, and informative content. This initiative helped students develop teamwork, organizational skills, and artistic expression. Such experiences not only foster artistic expression but also build essential life skills that contribute to students’ holistic development and prepare them for future collaborative endeavours.
SEWA Activity : Slogan Making on Safe Online Practices
As part of the SEWA initiative, a Slogan Making Activity on Safe Online Practices was conducted for students of Grades VI to IX at Delhi Public School–Bopal, Ahmedabad. The primary aim of the activity was to raise awareness about digital safety and promote responsible online behaviour in an engaging and creative format. Students participated with great enthusiasm, crafting impactful and thought-provoking slogans that highlighted key themes such as cyberbullying prevention, password security, mindful sharing of personal information, responsible use of social media, and protection against online scams. Their work reflected a deep understanding of the importance of maintaining digital hygiene and fostering a secure online environment.
World Book Day
Books open doors to imagination, knowledge, and wisdom. Through reading, students can explore the past, navigate the present, and shape the future. In alignment with this spirit, Delhi Public School – Bopal celebrated World Book Day on 23 April 2025, honouring authors, books, characters, and the lifelong joy of reading through a range of exciting literary activities.
Students from classes I to V enthusiastically delved into the world of books through a series of engaging and interactive activities. As part of Book Explorers, they learned about the different parts of a book before enjoying dedicated reading time. In Book Buddies, they shared their favourite books and summaries with classmates, fostering a love for storytelling and peer learning. They also showcased their creativity by designing vibrant bookmarks featuring inspiring quotes, demonstrated their literary knowledge in the exciting Bookers Quiz, and sharpened their language skills through a variety of fun and effective vocabulary-building activities.
The middle and senior school students experienced the celebration with a creative twist. They created Pictorial Depictions, conveying storylines through artistic expression. In Page Tabs, they crafted personalized bookmarks inspired by their favourite characters. They also enjoyed Literary Pictionary, illustrating book titles and scenes, watched a motivational video, and wrote meaningful captions reflecting their takeaways. Their creativity shone through in Ink and Imagination, where they designed posters capturing the essence of reading.
A special highlight of the day was the Author’s Meet organized by the Library Department for the students of classes V–VIII. Renowned academician and author Dr. Indira Nityanandam—retired Principal of Smt. R.R. Mehta Arts College, former Director of Bharatiya Bhasha Sanskriti Sansthan (Gujarat Vidyapith), and visiting faculty at IIM and EDI—interacted with students on the theme Books: Our Best Companions. She spoke passionately about how reading strengthens language skills and enriches imagination, inspiring students to make books their lifelong companions.
